As you know, the Battelle Staff Association organizes many events for staff and their families. We rely on staff participation and contribution for the success of these events. Staff can volunteer to help out once or as many times as they like. It's an opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.
During the planning process, a list of activities that need to be completed is established. This list will indicate the number of volunteers we will need to get the tasks completed. This list will be sent out to the Volunteer Mailing List to request staff to sign up for different activities. Some of the activities in the past have been:
- Set up chairs and tables prior to event
- Collect money and sell tickets
- Serve beverages and check IDs at the event
- Take down chairs and tables after the event
We also could use information on youth groups which like to do community service. These groups normally help with the following:
- Cleaning the area during the event
- Assisting with clean up after the events
- Manning children games/activities during the event
