The Battelle Staff Association includes Battelle employees, retirees, and their immediate families.
The BSA Officers coordinate activities for the staff, including: attitude adjustment parties, athletic events, children's holiday parties, tours, and many other forms of entertainment. Sometimes space is limited for events and participation will be limited to staff and immediate household. If you are interested in becoming a BSA Officer elections are held annually.
- BSA Clubs: BSA sponsors
a variety of staff clubs. To propose a new club
contact, the BSA President.
- Check Cashing: Check deposits are turned into the PNNL Finance Office on a regular basis. Please make checks payable to Battelle. NOTICE: There will be a $25 dollar charge for all NSF Checks.
- Check Deposits: Checks/deposits are made on a weekly basis. In some special cases where checks are taken to reserve participation in/at an event, the check will be processed within 1 week following the event. For questions concerning this policy please contact the specific BSA Officer coordinating the event.
- Feedback: BSA welcomes staff feedback
on events. If you have any ideas to share, send us an email or contact one of the Officers directly.
- Proof of Employment: Your Hanford Recreation
Association (HRA) card (issued to staff members when hired) is used as
proof of Battelle employment (you should not use your badge offsite).
Your HRA card may be used by family members who also obtain the discounts.
- Ticket Sales Guidelines:
In order to give all staff equal chance at getting tickets to events where
space/participation is limited, BSA has implemented guidelines.
- Battelle Softball Field is treated just like a conference room. To schedule the softball field for make-up games or practice, use Outlook by scheduling a meeting in Calendar for "^CR PNNL BSA BallField" listed under PNNL Conference Rooms.
- Picnic Shelter: The BSA Picnic Shelter located on W Street just south of the ROB, is available for Battelle and BSA sponsored activities. It may be reserved by any Battelle staff member for personal activities (e.g., weddings, birthdays), however is not available for use by other companies or organizations for their business or group functions (e.g., fundraisers, company events, weekly team sports practices).
Available
equipment is specific depending on business or personal usage and may be
found on the BSA Picnic Shelter Rules and Restrictions.
To schedule the BSA Picnic Shelter fill out the Reservation Request Form. To see availability and to schedule the grounds, you must fill out the form and also schedule it in Outlook by scheduling a meeting in Calendar for ^CR PNNL BSA Picnic Shelter Gazebo. Reservations are accepted on a first come first serve basis. We now require a clean-up deposit of $175 (a check made payable to Battelle) when booking for personal use and a valid charge code for business use. If the grounds are clean by you after the event the deposit will be refunded or the work package number will not be charged.NOTE: BSA guidelines does not allow for any BSA equipment be moved from the BSA picnic shelter area due to the ease of damage during transportation. Consider using the BSA picnic shelter area for your event.
Volunteers: BSA welcomes volunteers for all events throughout the year. BSA's foundation rests in the efforts of its staff volunteers. Volunteer efforts can range from helping out with an event to serving as a BSA Officer. If you would like to get involved with BSA, contact one of the Officers and offer your assistance.
